When you grow up with C.J. Cherryh as your big sister, you learn a lot about the world and it's history. Knowing I liked swashbucklers, Sis introduced me to the works of authors like Jeffry Farnol whose historical romances came alive with hundred year old colloquialisms and dialect. I had just finished his tale, The Broad Highway, when one of my friends from The Golden Palm Tape Network called to say they had come across a reference which described the pallet used by one of my great artistic heroes, Lawrence Alma Tadema. In a modified version of the pallet, I set about trying it out.
